“Surround yourself with people who have Dreams, Desire and Ambition: They’ll help you push for, and realize your own”
I HELE sitt liv. Ever!
THIS IS WHAT I WILL BE DOING FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!
Isåfall: This is the recipe!
– Berit
People keep asking me how I work, do things, and how I grow my business and make it happen while I travel and explore the world at the same time. Therefore, I think it’s time to start and share more about this… First post up: MY OFFICE (For those who don’t know: I work in the Beauty and Health industry, online and over social media – feel free to check out our teampage: www.teambeautysecrets.com – Incredibly proud to be part of this awesome gang! <3)
My office changes all the time, and I LOVE IT. Since I work online, the only thing I need to get my work done is wifi…I have built my business from my computer/phone/pad, around in Europe, Asia and Australia – in everything from straw cottages in SE-Asia, without aircon where I could only stay inside and work before 10am and after 6pm (..was not possible to BREATH inside between these hours!!!) ..with frogs coming up from the drain in my sink! (This was a crazy and fun experience, haha!)..to hotel rooms “with a view” – that irl was bunkers, with NO WINDOWS!! …to great hotels and beachfront-apartments with no worries at all 😉 !
And yes, ofcourse, It can be challenging to move around, travel and at the same time stay focused on work and business. There’s a lot of distractions and it can be exhausting. but, LIFE IS FULL OF DISTRACTIONS AND CHALLENGES, and everything CAN BE EXHAUSTING! It comes down to if you’re looking for solutions, or problems? If there is a will, there is a way, right? 😉
.. I love this and are super grateful for being able to do it! I love the freedom, I love the changes and the flexibility <3
Would you like to have an office like this?? – Berit
Okeeei – don’t know how many times I’ve got this question recently. The last year, I’ve ended up “living” in Southeast Asia for over 6 months in total (..still counting!), in 6 different countries, (going to be 7 next wednesday ;)) AND I LOVE IT. And for all of you who’s asking WHY? Here you go!
13 reasons I keep hanging around this Paradise!
- NO alarms, NO stress
You wake up when you wake up. Usually because the sun rises or the rooster crows. Waking up naturally is unbelievably AWESOME and provides an absolutely fantastic start to the day. No stress
- You’re never late for anything
If you were born 10 minutes too late ( or like me, 1 hour too late) – you would LOVE this place! Myself, I’m always super optimistic with time, and therefor I’m always running late! AND YES, I hear you, it’s disrespectful… – that’s why I live here! 😉 I guess this goes together with the one above: NO alarms, NO stress – when you’re meeting someone at 4pm, is more 4:30-45… so: never late for anything!!
- You can party in thongs…
This should have been the top 1 reason on this list!!!! haha – I love my havaianas – and here, I never have to take them off! No dresscode when you’re going out for beers! Big + !!!!!!!
- Non materialistic – Happier life
I’m just so tired of society when it comes to the pressure and focus on having the finest and most expensive things. They feed your brain with: you need to have this jeans, and that car, this brand, and the right shoes etc to be happy! We forget what really matters, and from my own experience – you reach a different type of happiness when you realise: THINGS ARE THINGS!!!!! They are dead, and in 10 years from now you will not remember and talk about your cool, new Iphone 7 that you had back in 2016 – you will remember and talk about the people, the experiences and everything you DID! not the stuff you HAD
- The People, culture and experience
I love how the people here are so open, helpful and friendly. They talk to you (even if some of them speak little or no english) like you are a friend or even a family member. The culture is so relaxed and casual, and to learn and experience this just gives you a different perspective on the way you live, and life in general!
- Cheap awesome food – healthy!
You get cheap, awesome and healthy food! I have never taken care of myself, my body and health like I’m doing in Asia. Fresh fruit & veggies – AND they are naturally grown! love it, and so does my body and brain.
- Cheap beer
I’m not going to lie. I eat healthy so I can drink as much beer as I want. haha I love beer… Cambodia: 50cent… (my body and brain: not so much.. :P)
- …AND – you can get it when YOU want!
Food, drinks, clothes, massage, girls, guys… drugs… haha jokiiing! 😛 ANYWAY, you get my point. You can get what you want, when YOU want it.
Beautiful beaches, montains, islands, villages and hidden, nice spots to explore! You NEVER run out of places to see, and all of them are different and unique in their own way!
- Cats and dogs everywhere
This is super convenient for me! I really miss having a pet, but when I travel as much as I do it’s almost impossible (nothing is impossible but would be a lot of stress, and take a lot of planing.. and I’m not a fan of any of them.. :P) SO – I love all the dogs and cats hanging around so I can pretend it’s mine for an hour or so. And they love me aswell… when I pet them..
I hate to freeze. When I get cold my body HURTS, and my brain stops working! haha – BIG PROBLEM!!!!! I hate to get up in the morning, scrape ice off the car windshield and get chilblains because of it..
So, this is simply perfect! I don’t mind rain, as long as it’s warm and I can walk out and get breakfast in just t-shirt and shorts..
- You learn to FEEL grateful!
To be honest, I havn’t really FELT grateful until I visited Sout-east Asia for the first time November 2015. My life was good before, it always have been – don’t get me wrong – but the last year, my life has turned from good to great! And I’m 100% sure it’s because my mindset has changed. I’ve started to appreciate all the things that really matters in life, I have realised how lucky I am for having: my family, friends, health, my work and all the opportuinities I have in my life. Southeast Asia, the culture, the people, their way of living has really teached me something! I feel different and I have a different perspective. If I could, I would pass this feeling and perspective on to every single person I meet – but, it’s something you have to see, feel and experience yourself..
- Safety first!Kidding.No safety :P…
….GET IT ? (Except the last point!) Have you already been to Southeast Asia? Would love to hear from you! Feel free to leave a comment about your experience!!! And if you havn’t been yet, it’s about time 😉 !!– Berit
This morning I had my coffee with this view of Bondi Beach. It made me think about the past.
If you told me, 5 years ago, when I first arrived Australia, when I was worried about my future and what I was going to do with my life – That in 5 years time I was going to have my own business. That I was going to live my dream – I would have said you were crazy..
When I first started to work towards my freedom, It was hard to believe it would ever happen! It felt so far away, and almost impossible. Then I re-learned something I always knew, but I didn’t know it was THIS important and powerful..
I re-learned to visualize.
As kids, most of us had dreams, and most of us were good at visualizing! What we didn’t know back then, was the power it actually has. Everything starts with a thought. An idea!
When I started to think back on happenings in the past, I found that most things I once wanted in life, that I visualized and lived BEFORE I had it – actually happend!
So, I started to believe in, and understand the power of visualization!
I saw myself being free, quitting my 9-5 job. I saw myself travelling the world, and going back to Australia. Some nights when I went to bed, I FELT the happiness of boarding the flight back to Sydney. It gave me real butterflies, like it was happening in the present.
Believe it or not, but what I visualized when I first started my journey, have started to take place!
My business has given me the freedom to quit my 9-5 job, and the opportunity to do what I love. It has so far taken me to the U.K, Spain, Hungary, Sweeden, USA , France, Denmark, The Netherlands, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia… And I’m just getting started!
The experiences and memories I have been able to have over the last years are amazing. It’s been challenges on the way, of course! Nothing worth having comes easy, and it takes work – But in the end it’s all worth it – And I would start all over again if I had to. Visualization is where you start to create your world and reality.
